Tariro Capital is a boutique professional services company that offers a wide range of services to institutional fund managers, businesses, and entrepreneurs across sub-Saharan Africa. The company was formed in 2018 and is a black-owned and managed company with a Level 2 Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (B-BBEE) accreditation.

 

Our company aims to position itself as the leading and preferred pan-African firm, that provides specialist and professional services, to SME businesses and capital providers, that operate within Africa’s private capital markets. Tariro Capital aims to prioritise clients’ interests whilst maintaining adherence to ethical standards. This ethos allows us to provide unbiased recommendations and advice to the benefit of our clients.

Private Capital Solutions

The primary purpose of this business unit is to provide fund solutions to under-capacitated private capital funds that require specialist and professional services. We utilize our experience to provide relevant pre-and post-transaction services to various venture capital and private equity funds operating in South Africa.

Corporate Advisory

Our corporate advisory offering provides management consulting and M&A services to SME's operating within sub-Saharan Africa. As a multi-disciplined deal advisor, we engage with various stakeholders to ensure that we achieve the best possible results for our clients, whilst minimizing execution risk.

Motheo is currently responsible for group operations and stakeholder engagement, where he looks after different pillars of the business, including: Private Capital Solutions, Corporate Advisory Solutions and Tariro Capital’s Investment Holding companies.

 

Motheo is a seasoned investment and corporate finance professional, with over 8 years’ worth of experience across public and private markets, having spent time at 27four Investment Managers and the Public Investment Corporation’s Private Equity & Structured Investment Product’s division, where he was responsible for financial modelling & analysis, deal structuring, investment evaluation, long-term risk management and corporate valuations.

 

Over the span of his career, thus far, Motheo has managed to execute over R3 billion worth of transactions in the Financial Services, Telecommunications, Technology, Manufacturing, Education, FMCG, Property, and Renewable Energy sectors, across sub-Saharan Africa. Motheo is a level III Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) candidate, who holds an Honours degree in Investment Management, from the University of Johannesburg (UJ), and a certificate in Private Equity & Venture Capital, from the Gordon Institute of Business Science (GIBS) and the Southern Africa Venture Capital and Private Equity Association (SAVCA).

Tafadzwa is currently the executive that leads our Corporate Advisory operations, where he is responsible for developing our business, with SME businesses and corporates, across sub-Saharan Africa.

 

Tafadzwa is an experienced investment and corporate finance professional, having spent several years at Standard Bank Group and the Public Investment Corporation’s Private Equity & Structured Investment Product’s division, where he was responsible for economic & market research, investment evaluation, long-term strategic planning, stakeholder engagements and M&A execution.

 

To date, Tafadzwa has successfully executed transactions and conducted research on companies in the Financial Services, Agricultural, Healthcare, Mining & Engineering, Technology, Manufacturing, FMCG, Tower and Property sectors, across sub-Saharan Africa. Tafadzwa passed level I of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) program, holds an Economics & Finance degree, from the University of Cape Town (UCT), and a certificate in Private Equity & Venture Capital, from the Gordon Institute of Business Science (GIBS) and the Southern Africa Venture Capital and Private Equity Association (SAVCA).

Lindokuhle Mkhatshwa

Lindokuhle is a Chartered Accountant (SA) with a strong background in auditing, corporate finance and project finance. He began his career at the Auditor-General of South Africa and later completed his articles at Mahlako A Phahla Investments, where he gained experience in renewable energy, advisory and private equity transactions. He further worked at the National Empowerment Fund as an Investment Analyst, focusing on SME funding and developmental finance. At Tariro Capital, he delivers strategic advisory and supports the execution of complex transactions.
Tshimollo Mokomane

Tshimollo is a Chartered Accountant (SA) with over four years’ experience in corporate finance, investment analysis and transaction advisory. He trained at National Treasury and was seconded to Transnet SOC Limited’s Corporate Finance unit, where he gained hands-on experience in project finance and financial modelling. At Tariro Capital, he supports M&A, capital raising and advisory mandates across multiple transaction types. His expertise includes valuation analysis, due diligence, financial modelling and transaction structuring.

His responsibilities include financial modelling, valuation, capital raising and investment reporting, as well as post-investment monitoring and performance analysis. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Investment Management (cum laude) and an Honours degree in Investment Management from the University of Pretoria.

Sydney is a Financial Manager and member of the South African Institute for Professional Accountants (SAIPA), as well as a registered Tax Practitioner. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting and is currently pursuing ACCA studies. With over seven years of experience across public and private sectors, he specialises in financial reporting, taxation and advisory. He oversees financial operations and supports Tariro Capital’s accounting division, Trinca.
